Sula Boxall

As a young child, SULA BEDER BOXALL had a passion for music and dance. She studied ballet, modern, jazz, and character dance at Arts Umbrella under Artemis Gordon. In 2008, after a nine year hiatus from dance she found a way to renew her love of dance with flamenco at Centro Flamenco. At Centro Flamenco she has studied under Rosario Ancer, Bonnie Stewart, Afifa Lahbhi, Nanako Aramaki, and Melanie Meyers. Rosario Ancer’s mentorship has been an integral part of her development as a dancer. She joined Flamenco Rosario’s three year Professional Training Program in 2010. With Rosario’s encouragement, she travelled to Spain in 2012 and studied under Candela Soto and Isabel Bayon. She regularly attends workshops with guest artists in Vancouver, including La Moneta, Javier Baron, La Lupi, Joaquin Grilo, Olga Pericet, Mariano Cruceta, Marién Lluevano, and Ricardo Rubio. In 2013, she danced her debut solo performance. In 2014, Sula performed with Flamenco Rosario at the Vancouver International Flamenco Festival. She regularly performs around the Lower Mainland with Flamenco Rosario and Centro Flamenco. Along with performing, Sula teaches children’s flamenco classes at Centro Flamenco.
