Bonnie Stewart


Bonnie Stewart is a member of the Flamenco Rosario Dance Company. She has trained extensively in tap, ballet, jazz, modern and flamenco. She holds a degree in theatre from the University of British Columbia. She has toured provincially and nationally, and has performed for celebrities and royalty.

She has had the opportunity to study and perform with some of the world’s greatest flamenco artists: Carmen de Torres, La Tanya, Sabas Santos, Marisol Moreno, Myriam Allard and Rosario Ancer.  Bonnie was showcased at Real Flamenco 2004 and appeared as a soloist in the 2004 and 2005 Vancouver Flamenco Festival.  Recent milestones include performing with prima ballerina, Evelyn Hart, in Pacific Dance Arts’ “Art in Motion”, and returning from Jerez, Spain, where she took part in the Flamenco Festival de Jerez.  There, Bonnie studied with famed artists Blanca del Rey and Antonio El Pipa.

Bonnie has taught for Arts Umbrella and currently instructs flamenco at Centro Flamenco, Anna Wyman School of Performing Arts, and UBC’s Alma Mater Society.  Bonnie performs weekly at the Kino Cafe.
