Nancy Miki
Nancy began dancing as an adult by taking ballet classes at a local community centre. Over twenty years later, she continues to pursue dance because it has become an integral part of her life.
Her interest in flamenco started while living in Toronto where she studied and performed with Ritmo Flamenco and Arte Flamenco for nine years. In both studios she had the opportunity to teach children and adults.
Upon her return to Vancouver in 2004, she began studying at Centro Flamenco and in 2007, joined the teaching staff. Working with Victor Kolstee and Rosario Ancer has provided a greater understanding of the flamenco rhythms as well as the subtleties that accentuate the more basic movements. Nancy thoroughly enjoys and looks forward to the annual student recitals (for herself and her students) as well as other community-based performances.
